beers, lagers & cider A pub in Kent wouldn't be a pub without a good selection of cask ales. So, not only have we got our own 'Poacher's Brew', we also feature some of Kent's finest ales from Shepheard Neame, as well as beers from The Horsham Brewery and Sharps Doombar. The beers are rotated to give a regular selection. In addition you can also enjoy a range of lagers with your meal.

  Poacher's Brew!
Our own brew is an “all malt brew”, formulat ed from a blend of best quality malts namely: - Pale Ale Malt (derived from Marris Otter Barley), Crystal Malt (to give colour and body), Chocolate Malt (to give colour and a slight hint of smokiness to the aroma ) and finally one other specialis t barley malt . Hops form an important constituent of the flavour and we blend a variety of finest East Kent whole hops (as opposed to pellets or extract that many brewers use these days ) to achieve a balance of Bitterness and
Aroma . ABV 3.8%
Summer Ale from the Horsham Brewery Summer Ale from J W King in Horsham
Our Summer Ale is brewed only with the finest Pale Ale Marris Otter Malt and choicest Goldings Hops. No additives or preservatives are used. The beer has a delightful hop aroma balanced with the light malty flavour derived from floor malted barley.
Canterbury Jack Ale

A complex aroma of apricots , peaches and floral hops dominate and stimulate the senses. The palate is a cavalcade of fresh citrus fruits and mango combining with vibrant hop notes. The finish is mouth watering and refreshing with a clean satisfying linger. A well balanced , light coloured ale which scores high in the moreish stakes.

Doombar beer

Doom Bar from Sharps Brewery
The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes.
